Two people who arrived at data from opposite directions.
Tobolist is a data engineering, data architecture and business intelligence consultancy based in Murcia, Spain. We’re a small team working on real systems, and we’d rather tell you something inconvenient early than something reassuring that doesn’t hold up.
01 Origin · Physics
Enrique came from physics. Years of modelling systems and cleaning experimental data teach you something no course does: a result is only ever as good as the pipeline behind it. That turned into a career in data engineering and architecture — designing platforms on Azure, AWS and Google Cloud, building the processes that keep them fed, and being the person who gets called when the numbers stop arriving at 06:00.
02 Origin · Business
Juan came from business management, and still works inside a data centre building the reporting that leadership actually reads. That side of the table knows what a dashboard is worth when someone has to stand up in a meeting and defend a figure — and how fast trust evaporates when the figure turns out to be wrong.
Tobolist exists in the overlap.
Most data problems are neither purely technical nor purely commercial. They live in the gap between the team that builds the platform and the team that has to make decisions with it — where the pipeline is technically correct and the report is still useless. That gap is our work.

How we work
Four commitments you can hold us to.
- We tell you what we don’t know yet.
- Some things only become clear once we’re inside your data. When a scope or a date depends on something we haven’t seen, we say so instead of giving you a number that sounds confident and turns out to be wrong. If something slips, you’ll hear it from us before you notice it yourself.
- Cloud-agnostic on purpose.
- We’re certified on Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure, and we deliver on AWS. The right architecture depends on what you already run, what your team knows and what you’re already paying for — not on which vendor we happen to resell.
- We start with the decision, not the tool.
- Before choosing between Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery or Microsoft Fabric, we ask which decisions the platform has to support. Half the time the answer changes the shortlist.
- We’ll tell you when you don’t need us.
- Sometimes the honest answer is that your own team can handle it, or that the platform you already have is fine and the problem is somewhere else. We’d rather say that than sell you a project. It costs us the job in front of us, and it’s the reason people come back.
Where we work
Tobolist is based in Murcia, Spain, and works remotely across Europe — on site when a project genuinely needs it. We’ve delivered in sectors where the data arrives dirty, the constraints are real and nobody is impressed by a demo.
